Laverne Welch grew up in Saint John, Brunswick, Canada and graduated from Saint John General Hospital of Nursing. She was the co-owner of Gagetown Nursing Home Ltd. Laverne moved to Florida in 2002 and married Robert Welch in 2003. She worked for Sonnenberg Insuance Services from 2006 to 2010, and is now the Community Relations Coordinator for Grand Villa Senior Living Community in Largo. Laverne is now in her second term as a director of the Seminole Chamber Board, having joined the Chamber in 2008. She is currently a member of the Ambassador Committee and "Bright Before Your Eyes" Parade committee. Laverne attends and helps out at all Chamber events and activities, such as the recent golf tournament, and is a participant of every project.
